Class Cards 22nd February 2016

As promised, here are the cards made by lovely ladies that come to my monthly class in Reading.  There are only a few of us but I really love teaching them - we have so much fun!

This week we only managed to make one card as there were a lot of elements to it, and this is only our 6th month of card making.  They were pretty scared to start with but when broken down into smaller elements it really was quite simple.

I think they were all really pleased with what they produced, and I made the box for one of the ladies as her sister's birthday was imminent!

It never ceases to amaze me how different the same card can looks in other colours - I really liked their colour choices.  I am so proud of them.

The items I used for this card were:

Cardstock:  Foundations cardstock and centura pearl
Dies:           Spellbinders decorative curved squares
                   Spellbinders curved squares
                   Sue Wilson pierced squares
Sue Wilson Delicate Daisies complete petals
Sue Wilson Delicate Daisies open petals
                   Creative Expressions pearls
                   Creative Expressions sentiments
                   Creative Expressions blue dazzlers

Everything has its beauty .....................

I have a new favourite colour!  Yes its teal.  Was a little worried about it initially as it is a strong colour but was really pleased with the finished card as it looks very fresh and clean.

As this turned out better than I expected, I decided to give this challenge to the ladies in my class and they did an amazing job, so I will share those with you on another day!

What do you think?

I have to say that I really liked this sentiment.

As there was also quite a lot of dimension on this card I decided to make a box for it too.  It was quite a simple one which made best use of the colours.

It's in the bag!

Well todays project is something a little different.  I recently attended a class with Bev Mizen in Bristol and we made bags!  This is a great project to give with a small gift in or even instead of an envelope.

As promised, I have changed my colour to green!

For this project we used:

Creative Expressions stick pins
XCut A4 die set gift bag
Cardstock - Cream Centura Pearl & Foundations Coconut White
Seam Binding coloured with Basil Colour Cloud
Dies by Sue Wilson Perfect Peony flowers & Petite Vinery

Take care

Valentines Day!

Well I couldn't let valentines day slip by without making at least one card!

Here is my latest creation which really is a very simple card - you have probably realised by now that I really like cards with just two colours, that are simplistic and clean!

This was simple to make but I think quite effective.

I used:

Dies by Sue Wilson Pierced Squares
Dies by Sue Wilson Finishing Touches Heart of Heart die
Cardstock - Foundations Coconut White and red was from stock

That's all from me for now.

Take care

From the Heart ................

Phill Martin released a new range of new dies called From the Heart, and I have been playing with the Happy Birthday die, which is lovely.  They cut beautifully and I love the simplicity of them.

I think I have a slight addiction to the periwinkle foundation cardstock, so will try to mix it up a bit with my next creation!

I die cut the sentiment, once in the coloured card and once in the white and then layered them up to give a drop shadow, and then felt that it needed something at the bottom of the card so used one Gemini Phoenix die and as I had some of the Delicate Daisies left over from a previous card I decided to use these too.

The recipe for this card is as follows:

Cardstock:  Foundations Periwinkle card, Centura Pearl Card
Dies:           Dies by Sue Wilson - Gemini Phoenix die
From the Heart - Happy Birthday die
Dies by Sue Wilson - Delicate Daisies Complete
                   Petals & Open Petals

Hope you like it.

A Bit of Colour Cloud

Today I got to play with some colour cloud and one of the new dies by Sue Wilson.  I have a lot of fun doing this one and was surprised at how well the colour came out. I cannot remember what the technique is called but dare say it will come back to me in the middle of the night!!!

This was all white cardstock that I coloured myself, so was quite simple to do and could easily be replicated in any colour way you like.

I used:

Colour Cloud - chic aubergine
Colour Cloud - lilac whisper
Colour Cloud - violet haze
Dies by Sue Wilson - Pierced Squares
Dies by Sue Wilson - Australian Collection - Sydney
White self adhesive pearls

Until next time

Something Simple

A nice simple card today, which looks lovely in cream and pale green.  We have made this several times in class and its always popular.  Nice and simple and people always love the butterfly!

You can't really tell from the photograph but the butterfly wings sit up from the card as they flutter.

I used:

6" x 6" card
Cream cardstock
Pale green cardstock
Memory Box Chloe Butterfly die
Stampin' Up! sentiment

That's all for now, until next time

Card Box

Here is the box I made to go with the card I made a few days ago - I absolutely love the Delicate Daisies.  I made the box out of Centura Pearl as it is a slightly heavier cardstock, I decided to do the flowers in the same with the base being the Foundations Periwinkle cardstock.  I think they look fab ;-)

Please feel free to leave any comments as love to hear from people.

Until next time

A bit of Black & Gold

Another card I made earlier in this week and was in a bit of a black mood so had fun with black cardstock and gold, with some of the new dies by Sue Wilson.

I stamped and embossed the Scripted Clematis stamp with gold embossing powder and it sparkled beautifully.

This looks really nice and was incredibly simple to make!

I used:

Foundation Black cardstock
Gold cardstock
Sue Wilson Dies - Pierced Squares
Sue Wilson Dies - Australian Collection - Sydney
Stamps to Die For - Clematis Script
CE Gold embossing powder

Until next time
